卫生部长拿督斯里廖中莱指出，骨痛热症病例有上升趋势，公众人士需关注住宅区黑斑蚊滋长问题，目前骨痛热症例者4,533宗及15宗死忙病例而去年同时期有了988宗及八宗死忙病例，这明显增加此病例而雪州已成为严重的病例州属。

部长是在无拉港锡金花园由沙登狮子会慈爱福利流动诊所所推动免费健康检验主持仪式。

马华沙登国会选区服务及咨询中心主任拿督叶炳汉，马华沙登区会副主席拿督黎广才医生，该区马华支会主席蔡育兴，巫统支会主席查利，国大党主席甘那巴帝及非政府组织领袖及数百名各族人民出席上述仪式。

部长也在会上促请社区人民支持拿督叶炳汉，拿督黎广才医生的积极服务社区精神。

叶炳汉向报界表示促请社区人民保持警惕，关注黑斑蚊繁殖，威胁家庭成员生命，同时也进行体验。

MORE DENGUE CAMPAIGNS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS

The Health Ministry will intensify awareness campaigns at residential areas to curb the increase in dengue fever this year.

Minister Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai said dengue cases had risen sharply this year, especially in Selangor. There were a total of 4,533 cases recorded. This is a 14% increase compared to the same period last year.

He told journalists after launching a health check program and blood donation campaign at Taman Sri Timah, Balakong.

Dato' Yap Pian Hon, Serdang Parliamentary Constituency Coordinator, Datuk Dr. Lai Kwong Choy, Vice Chairman MCA Serdang Division and other BN local leaders all present in launching.
